Hello all.
Today we called and scheduled Lady to be spayed and microchipped. After this, we are hoping we will be done with major expenses for the dog. But we don't want her to get knocked up by some roaming dog (of which there are many in our neighborhood) and then have little puppies that we don't know how to take care of. (Although, she would have adorable puppies) Also because Bob Barker asked me so nicely at the end of every episode of Price Is Right to "Help control the pet population. Have your pet spayed or neutered."
The microchipping is to help increase the chances that you get your dog back if it is lost or stolen. It can't track your dog, but if your dog is picked up by animal control or taken to a vet or humane society, they scan it for a microchip, which identifies the dog as yours.
How long before kids have microchips?
Anyways. Poor dog has no idea what will befall her on Monday. We drop her off between 7:30 and 9:00 am, and pick her up after 2:00 before 5:00pm.
We decided this coming Monday would be the best because it will be my spring break, and then I can spend all day with her, and all week at home to make sure she's not chewing out her stitches or anything. I've heard recovery is pretty easy though. They pretty much know what they should and shouldn't do as far as exercise and movement go.
We're taking her to a vet that's highly recommended by the other dog owners in our training classes at PetSmart. Hopefully all goes well!

You should take her to the spay/neuter clinic. They have one here and it is $20-$25. I bet you are gonna pay mooooorrreee than that!
I'm sure we are! We don't have anything like that here. The humane society did one a while ago but it was in Pocatello and we were busy.
