Road Trip: Day 5

Tuesday, October 28th, 2015

Last morning on the road!
Foliage!

Rest stop.
The Office!
So pretty!

Time for a banana.

Getting close!

Congratulations, CT for having the most boring Welcome sign!

:o( Poor guy. Wishing we could take a comfortable nap.

Waterbury

That. Is a sad face.
Meeting Grandpa in the church parking lot. FINALLY HERE!

The plan was to go trick-or-treating at mom and dad's. We couldn't wait until Friday, so went early. We got Charlie dressed up at the church, and got ready to go over. Charlie was exhausted, and probably confused. But he still makes an adorable blue dinosaur.

I'm Home!
Dad went home first, around 5:00 and told mom that he had had enough at work and came home early. Then Evan showed up at the house with donuts. A few minutes later, we rang the doorbell. Mom said she was suspicious that Evan and Dad were purposely avoiding answering the door. The first thing she said was "I just sent you cookies!". We were so happy to be out of the car and to have a warm, comfortable place to rest. We can't believe we are here.

Road Trip: Day 4

Monday, October 27th
The view from the passenger seat.

Charlie helping clean the car at the gas station on the Ohio Turnpike near Genoa.
We stopped for snacks. I fed Russell. Charlie got to play a racing arcade game.

TREES!
MORE TREES!!
Russell is a good little traveler.
We got bored and took some pictures together.

Selfies!

Loving his toy from Vanessa and Joshua.

Poor little guy.

And the sun sets on another day in the car.

Clearfield, PA - For our last night on the road, we decided to splurge and stay at a decent hotel. We also went out to eat at a cute little restaurant called The Dutch Pantry. It was Special Olympics night so our servers were accompanied by volunteers with special needs. We even got to go swimming in the hotel pool. We had a great time, and LOVED sleeping in such comfortable beds.

Charlie's "nana" is ready for bed.

Tomorrow, WE GO HOME!!!
