The other half of the duplex has a Spanish version of our family. They have a little long-haired chihuahua, and two boys. (One just turned 3 and the other is a few weeks younger than Russell.) The dad works and the mom stays at home. They invited us to their little boy's birthday party the weekend after we (me and the boys) moved here. (Charlie's first non-family birthday party!)

Tonight the boys were outside at the same time, and after a little coaxing, their little boy came over to play with Charlie. They threw water balloons at the sidewalk, got ice cream from the ice cream truck, and then ran their cars up and down the sidewalk. The neighbor boy understands English but only seems to speak Spanish. It is fun to watch them try to communicate. Charlie doesn't understand what Joshua's saying so he just keeps repeating himself. "No, it's Charlie". (Trying to tell him his name)
