Christmas 2013!!

This year for Christmas, we decided to just stay home. We wanted to see family, but decided that it would be best for us and Charlie to just have a quiet Christmas at home. Technology makes it a little easier because we can still check in with our families without having to travel. Charlie got more than enough presents from us and other family. He is spoiled, for sure. (Sorry future children!)
Reading the Nativity story

The big gift this year was the announcement that Charlie is going to be a big brother!
New baby is due in early June.  (Chad didn't know until Christmas.)
New Thomas jammies from grandma.

The story about Lady's cast: I was supposed to go play piano at a retirement home nearby on the Sunday before Christmas. Chad was going to come with me. We had a babysitter come over. She knocked on the door, and Lady went ballistic, as usual. Chad picked her up and "tossed" her into the other room. She immediately yelped and ran off, not walking on her back foot. Chad took her to the emergency vet instead of coming with me. They took x-rays and said her foot was broken. $350 later, they put her in a cast for 6 weeks. If it heals badly, they've offered surgery. We're probably not paying for surgery on our dog's foot....

*Update: We took Lady to the regular vet a few weeks later. He looked at it and redressed her cast. Since she's gotten it off, she was a little cautious about walking on it, but seems to be better now. She got a bath and a haircut after that, since she badly needed both. And now our little dog is back to barking at the doorbell and the mailman.
